Monica Ana Marie Bellucci was born in 1964 in Umbria, Italy. Bellucci pursued a legal profession while modeling for extra money. Over time, Bellucci's modeling career replaced her legal pursuits and she was hired in 1988 by Elite Model Management in Milan, Italy.

Since then, Bellucci has appeared in dozens of films - her most famous role to date is as Persophone in Matrix Reloaded and Matrix Revolutions produced in 2003.
