Vh1 Mob Wives...a contradiction or an addiction?

Another season, another obsession about wives and a genre, culture, society, etc.
You may recall my lust filled rants about E's Married to Rock or my second article Married to Rock - II.
Now I'm hooked on Vh1's Mob Wives. I saw the teasers and was instantly attracted to the mayhem. I watched the first show with high expectations - a tad disappointing.
As a an avid follower of HBO's Sopranos (from first episode to the finale), I was hoping for a mafia memory lane. They say second time is a charm because Episode 102 "The Bitch is Back" was riveting - some people may be appalled by the behaviour, attitudes and messages but this is a ...SHOW.
Mob wives fashion is what interests me the most...animal prints galore, fur extravaganza, lace, silk and satin mixed with leather and more fur, manicured nails and velour jogging suits and globs of red lipstick. Undergarments as day wear is not only on the runway it is also on Staten Island.
Well, I am fan of faux fur but each to it's one.

My title sounds like a good plot for a reality show or a film noir...but it is not I am speaking of the infamous Evan Rachel Wood.
Ms. Wood is not mainstream but not behind the curtain either instead she straddles celebrity and movie stardom with a distance and a current obsession with... death? At the young of 23, when most people are obessing about men or clothes - Evan writes a will.
Maybe it's her unpredictable relationship with Marilyn Manson that is inspiring her morbid exploration or maybe she is a chameleon constantly evolving like a storm in the distance. Either way, Wood reminds me of a young Winona Ryder with a heavy dose of Linda Fiorentino.

Aniston is not a femme fatale and no longer the "quirky girl next door" but a woman who has matured over the years personally and on screen.
Jennifer Aniston is the perfect portrait of the female next door, the girlfriend that women want go to dinner with and take on vacation and the vulnerable woman that emerges in every magazine interview - at times wounded or haunted by her past. Aniston seems happy with her independence, freedom and friends but I don't know her personally although I sort of feel like I do because I never get the sense she is faking it.
Aniston is 42 years old, still acting in memorable films that I like to watch over again on rainy days. Either way, whatever your opinion of Aniston, I am sure you will agree she looks great on film and on the cover of a magazine.

Fashion this season is a burst of primary colors like orange, fuschia and very berry or prim green or kissable red. Stay Tuned for our favorite lingerie picks for Spring.
Either way, one of my favorite models Crystal Renn, (aka used to be plus size model) is now a smaller version and personally I prefer her full figured but I am not one to throw negative comments.
It seems the fashion industry prefers her thin as well which is sad because you think by now we would love, appreciate, celebrate and admire all shapes and sizes.
I am still happy for Ms. Renn as I was in Does Size Really Matter.
I prefer Crystal this way instead but you decide.

Dating at any age is difficult, I know some of my girlfriends would rather get a root canal than go on a date, especially a blind date even if they found them online.
The first date can be nerve racking, it's like going on a job interview and jumping off a cliff at the same time for some. I am sure dating over 40 can be a huge deal for many that embark on a new chapter in their life.
I recommend taking it slow and don't jump into the dating world until your ready especially if you are in the process of getting a divorce or newly divorced but what do I know... I am not a relationship guru, although many of my friends seek my advice.

Kanye West is floating and rapping at the same time ... pure poetry...although it reminds me of t.A.T.u. "All the Things She Said"
